Wildlife Wednesday 23 - Magpie Goose

Wildlife Weds again and if I am honest I am starting to run out of fauna photos. I might resort to including flora to as well  :)

Today's wildlife is a Magpie Goose and was captured in a tree in Cape York far north Queensland. I was reliably informed that they are quite rare!

Wildlife Wednesday 22 - Termites

I know this is not an actual picture of a Termite but is still an impressive way to depict them. This mound was truly huge!
This was taken on the way into Bramwell station up Cape York.

100th Post today!! Favourite Destination

Well this is my 100th Post and I thought I would dedicate it to our favourite destination and the new friends we made there.
Cape York was the Destination and Sandy and Elliott were our friends.
This is all of us enjoying Twin Falls all to ourselves. The whole story of the trip can be found here - Trip Around Australia Blog

Fencing - Old Laura Homestead, Lakefield NP

An abstract shot of the fence that surrounds Old Laura homestead in Lakefield National Park, Far North Queensland. The Homestead is made from corrugated iron and is empty aside from those that choose to visit Cape York in the dry season.

The Tip, Cape York

I know, I know....
Daily photo and I missed a day! Apologies to you all. I am posting 2 today to make up for it *Grovel Grovel*
The most northern point of the Australian Mainland is in Cape York Queensland and is a pretty spectacular place.
Here we have a picture of the sign and the view from the cliff.
The sign unfortunately has been vandalised and stolen. I am not sure if a new one has replaced it yet?

Bramwell Station - Cape York

Cape York is a Mecca for 4x4 owners, they come to test their driving skills and their vehicle. Our trip around Oz was in a 4x4 and we thoroughly enjoyed the Cape. I am sure there will be plenty of images from here as the blog continues on.

This image is from Bramwell Station at the beginning of the "Old Telegraph Track". This track is what 4wders come to challenge themselves and their cars against. We spent the night before our trek here at bramwell with friends enjoying what would be our last shower for a while! Great camp spot.
