These are the fuel pumps at Mungarannie station. It is the only stopping point for travellers on the 600 odd km outback road - The Birdsville Track.
There are no sealed roads in any direction for 100's of kms and we found it very strange that even the fuel station is unsealed. Hate to see what it looked like in the rain!
Eerie picture. I love the tilted angle of the pumps in the middle and the colour composition: sand and rust, treeline, sky. Wow!
