Beautiful Storm Contrast

This amazing image was taken whilst driving on the beach on Queensland's beautiful Fraser Island.

Golden Sand, Green Ocean and Angry Black Sky...

Fraser is all sand and a 4x4 is the only way to get around.

Pink Sky - Sunset in Eden

This shot was taken on the same evening that we took the sunset over a lake in Eden post way back on 1st July 2010.

We raced from the lake to the beach and just managed to capture a few shots - this is my favourite

We saw some great skies on our trip and they are a lasting memory for me.

Beautiful Tasmanian Coastline

This shot was taken near the Tessalated Pavement in Tasmania.
I love the way the trees frame the shot.

Lakes Entrance, Victoria

Our trip through Victoria coincided with the horrible bush fires of 2009 and we didn't see as much of it we would have liked. So apologies for duplicating towns in the state.

This one is of the actual 'Entrance' in Lakes Entrance. They keep this channel clear by continually dredging it out.

Anchor, Great Ocean Road

This is an old relic from a time gone by still led on 'Wreck Beach' as a memorial. This sort of Man meets nature stuff has always fascinated me.

Shipwreck - Fraser Island

Hi All,

I am back, sorry for the huge gap in posts.
Today I want to share the very cool shipwreck on Fraser Island in Queensland. Fraser is the largest sand island in the world and claimed this ship a very long time ago.

Boat Ramp, Coral Bay

Hi All

Back and refreshed from our break.

This is a shot from Coral Bay and the very new looking boat ramp. A great way to see Ningaloo Reef in all it's glory.

Wine Glass Bay - Tasmania

This tranquil place is called Wine Glass Bay (for obvious reasons). It is in Freycinet National Park in Tasmania.
The walk to the beach from this photographing location was steep and very tricky. The way back was a killer!

Tracks in the Sand - Sensation Beach, Coffin Bay NP

Coffin Bay National Park was great fun to drive (4x4) and camp. We crossed a big sand dune to get to this white sandy beach. It was as perfect as it's name suggests - Sensation Beach.

I know the pictures are becoming far less than daily - Life has been busy and I apologise, I will post as often as is possible. I am also thinking of have a guest photographer day so if you have ant Oz pictures online send me the URL and I may choose one!

This shot was taken at Coolangatta in the south of the Gold Coast. I love the feeling of motion in it.

Wildlife Wednesday 18 - Soldier Crabs

These crabs amazed me as I had never seen them before. They all walk along the beach together and when danger approaches they burrow into the sand in unicen. As soon as you walk away they all pop back out.

Sunset in Kalbarri

This may be the most dramatic sunset I have ever seen! Making this one of the favourite photos we took on the trip. It was taken in Kalbarri, Central Coast, Wetern Australia. This area is famous for it's geological features, particulalry 'Natures Window' - Picture to come.... one of these days ;-)

Catseye Beach, Hamilton Island

This photo was taken before I lived in Australia. We came here for a holiday and I loved it. Hamilton island in the Whitsunday Island group was one of the places we stayed. Heidi took this shot, we couldn't have lined the boats up better if we tried. Ahh Paradise..

Beautiful Sunset, Tractor Beach, Streaky Bay

This must have been one of the best sunsets of our whole trip. It was taken at Tractor Beach, Streaky Bay, South Australia.
I nearly didn't get the shot at all. I was sitting down to dinner when I saw the sky was pink and I had to run a good 300 metres to the beach to ge this view. Well worth the effort.

Beach - Esperance

Esperance is absolutely miles away from anywhere, but that doesn't mean you should miss it the beaches are fabulous!
PS I am moving this weekend and internet access is limited, I'll try to keep up :)

Wildlife Wednesday 13 - Pelican

These Pelicans were very tame, they were in Monkey Mia in the Shark Bay World Heritage area. This shot was taken moments after I had hand fed a technically Wild Dolphin. Monkey Mia is a great place to visit, but be prepared to travel to get there - it is very remote. Outback by the sea I would say!

Binalong Bay in the Bay of Fires

Binalong Bay is a truly beautiful place on the east Coast of Tasmania. The beach here is rated as one of the most beatiful in the world. It was overcast when we arrived here and as you know beaches don't look good unless the sun is shining! We walked to the far end of the beach and waited, the sun only popped out at intervals but we managed to get a few good shots. This remains a top favourite spot of ours.

Wildlife Wednesday 12 - Dingo

This shot of 2 Dingos searching for food was taken on Fraser Island. The Dingos here are said to be the purest left in Australia as they have had less opportunity to inter breed with wild dogs.
The beach is the main highway on Fraser, as you can see these guys were feeding right in the middle of it!
