Today's Image is from the Victoria country town Beechworth. A very picturesque town with real history.
This is the Post Office building one of many buildings worth a photo.
Beechworth Post Office
Lakes Entrance, Victoria
This one is of the actual 'Entrance' in Lakes Entrance. They keep this channel clear by continually dredging it out.
Anchor, Great Ocean Road
This is an old relic from a time gone by still led on 'Wreck Beach' as a memorial. This sort of Man meets nature stuff has always fascinated me.
Thurra River, Croajingolong NP
This is a little known place in South East Victoria called Thurra River in Croajingolong National Park. We had great fun running down sand dunes here. Serious mozzie problem after dark tho - go to bed early and make sure you zip up!!

Tram in Melbourne
Melbourne is famous for it's tram ways, they run down the middle of many of the roads. They certainly make driving in the city a little more tricky.

Lakes Entrance, Sunset
We sat here with fish and chips watching the sunset - seemed like the thing to do by the 'seaside'!
Lakes Entrance is called that because there is an entrance from lakes into the ocean that is kept clear by dredging.
Murray River National Park
This picture was taken the morning we woke up next to the Murray River. We found some $5 camp spots not far from the town of Mildura. It was very quiet and we were the only people around for some distance. Very tranquil spot.
The Skerries, Wingan Inlet, Croajingolong National Park
Spirit of Tasmania Ferry
This is the ferry from the Prot of Melbourne, Victoria over to Devonport in Tasmania. We took the 4x4 over with us and I thought the fare was reasonable. The journey takes 9 hours and we did an overnight run without the benefit of a cabin. Instead we had to sleep in what I can only descride as airplane chairs! Needless to say we were up early the next day watching the sun rise! I have a picture for a later date, stay tuned ;)
Alpine Ski Lodge, Dinner Plain, Victoria
I thought this place looked like something out of The Adams Family! This is one of the lodges that are available in Dinner Plain ski resort near Mount Hotham in the Victoria section of the Australian Alps. Great views from up here in summer, it was hard to imagine the place under snow.
Warning Sign - Great Ocean Road
Parliament of Victoria - Melbourne
This Grand old building sits in Spring Street on the outskirts of Melbourne's city centre. The building was started in 1855 and was completed in stages in 1929. We liked Melbourne a lot and I think the thing that stood out the most was the history and old buildings that are still prominent there.
Funny Warning Sign
As it is Friday I thought I would post an amusing picture. Here is a sign we saw on the Great Ocean Road near a camp spot. We thought "This guy is having a bad day!"

Great Ocean Road
Great Dividing Range.....
The Great Dividing Range runs all the way from Far North Qld to the bottom of Victoria where the land drops into the ocean (3,500 kms). The highest point of which is Mt Kosciuszko in the Snowy Mountains.
This mountain Range is a huge feature of the East Coast and to go anywhere inland from the east, you need to cross this barrier. Wonderful views are on offer all the way up the range. This shot was taken on The Great Alpine Road not far from the town of Omeo. We felt like we could see forever...
