Waterfalls of Atherton

I know, I know... you are all missing me! Sorry.
To make it up to you I have decided to post 2 waterfalls from Atherton Tablelands. First up is Zillie Falls, then the enchanted Ellinjaa Falls
Both very beautiful after a long while of dry outback!

Mossman Gorge

Mossman is a beautiful lush rainforest in north Queensland. You can swim in the river in the gorge, was a bit cold for us in the middle of winter!

Moss Covered Rocks - Nelson Falls

This shot was taken in central Tasmania and I love the green of the rocks. The atmosphere was so wet here, the rainforest was thriving.

Tropical Cairns, North Queensland

This picture was taken from my camping chair on our pitch in Cairns. Nothing better than a cold drink in a tropical place with a view like this!

Nelson Falls, Tasmania

Tasmania was full of beautiful waterfalls and this one is no exception. Nelson Falls is in central tassie and was a very popular place when we pulled up. I used a slow shutter to get this silky waster shot.

Eungella National Park

Eungella National Park is in Qld and I like the sense of height this shot displays. Eungella means "Land of the clouds" and is up on the Great Dividing Range. It is good spot to try and see Platypus in the wild.

Rainforest Tranquility - Mount Field National Park

This photo was taken in Tasmania, Australia's island state. The waterfall is called "Horseshoe Falls" because after heavy rain both sides of this waterfall flow in a curve and meet in the middle. When I took this shot there was only enough water for half the horseshoe but it still makes for a beautiful photo.
Tasmania is an affordable 9 hour ferry trip from Melbourne Victoria.
The falls are located in central Tasmania in Mount Field National Park and are 100 metres up stream from the amazing Russell Falls (photo still to come  ;-)
