This shot was taken on the same evening that we took the sunset over a lake in Eden post way back on 1st July 2010.
We raced from the lake to the beach and just managed to capture a few shots - this is my favourite
We saw some great skies on our trip and they are a lasting memory for me.

Pink Sky - Sunset in Eden
Snowy Mountains NP
Today's image is from the Snowy Mountains NP in New South Wales. Hard to believe this is all under snow in the winter - it was 35C degrees when we were here!

This is the scene from a lookout in the Snowy Mountains National Park in New South Wales. I love the way the sky deepens in blue up the image.

Sunset in the Hunter Valley
This shot was taken from out accommodation in the Hunter Valley wine region in Pokolbin. We had a great time in the Hunter and it was our first experience of wine tasting. It's surprisingly easier than you think.

Underground Hotel - White Cliffs
White Cliffs is a strange town, it only exists because Opals are found there. People there live underground to avoid the summer heat - it stays a constant 21 degrees. We just had to stay in the hotel - very quiet compared to all the camping!

Time zone change road sign
Here's something you don't see every day. This is an international time zone change but with a slight difference... The town for which this sign is for falls within a state that observes a different time zone. To explain Broken Hill is in New South Wales which is GMT +10 but it observes South Australia time which is GMT +9.5
The shot was taken on the move... This explains the blur in the image.

Grapes on Vine, Hunter Valley
It's Sunday here, the sun is shining and the temp is 25C (even though it is winter). I was thinking about a glass of wine an that is the thought process for how I arrived at this image. It is a red wine grape bunch hanging off the vine in The Hunter Valley, New South Wales.

Gap Bluff - Sydney Harbour
We enjoyed the scenic drive around Sydney's outer coastal suburbs. This interesting shot was taken at Gap Bluff in Sydney Harbour National Park NSW. I think it could get pretty cold and windy up here in winter! Does anyone else think that the rocks in the ocean look like huge bricks lined up?

Volkswagen VW Beetle in Silverton
This is not something you would expect to see in the middle of the Outback... actually saying that it probably is, because they do some weird things with everyday items out here!
It is a VW Beetle painted up outside a gallery in Silverton, New South Wales. Considerable time and effort has gone into this car and I thought I would recognise that here...

Isolation - Outback House, Silverton
I love this photo because it depicts a sense of nothing but this house.
Mad Max was filmed out here and the scenery is amazing. I love the outback!

Dead Horse Gap - What's in a name?
This is a bit of a depressing name...
Dead Horse Gap is in the Snowy Mountains and is so called because wild horses can become trapped up here in a snow storm and perish :-(
This is one of the highest places in Australia that has a road to it. We drove up for a look around and the views were awesome. I really like the deep blue sky in this shot.

Sunset over a lake in Eden
For those of you who don't already know, we have done a lot of camping in Australia. This shot was taken from the campsite about 20 metres from our tent. How's that for a view?

Botany Bay - A New World...
This sign is located in Botany Bay near Sydney and speaks for itself really!
Captain James Cook mapped the whole east coast of Austraila in 1770 and claimed the area for the British Empire. He also helped to give names to many places up the coast, including Cooktown, Botany Bay and the interesting Seventeen Seventy (1770).
If you are interested in the full history lesson it can be found here - Captain Cook - Wikipedia
For me it was a reminder of how young this country is...
