Hamersley Gorge - Karijini National Park

How is this for a place to cool off?
As I have said a hundred times before Karijini is a spectacular place and if you are travelling Australia it is a must visit.
This is Hamersley Gorge, we went for a swim here - awesome.

Katherine Gorge

Aboriginally known as Nimitluk National Park, Katherine Gorge is on the way into (or out of) Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory.

They have a great camping ground in the park and the whole area is very scenic.

Contrast - Flinders Ranges National Park

One of my favourite all time images, taken in the Flinders Ranges National Park, South Australia.

It is what I imagine Mars would look like if you caould go there...

As I have previously said this is one amazing place and everyone should visit if they get the chance.

Outback Road, Karijini National Park, WA

This amazing road can be found in Karijini National Park, Western Australia.
It is located not too far from Weano Gorge, be careful though it is quite corrugated and I would recommend a 4x4.

As I have said Karijini is a beautiful place yet relitively unknown. It is a must visit if you are in the area.

Lakes Entrance, Victoria

Our trip through Victoria coincided with the horrible bush fires of 2009 and we didn't see as much of it we would have liked. So apologies for duplicating towns in the state.

This one is of the actual 'Entrance' in Lakes Entrance. They keep this channel clear by continually dredging it out.

Kings Canyon

This contrasting shot was taken under the clear skies of Kings Canyon.

I still never tire of seeing the red earth against the aswesome blue sky.
We spent the night after Kings Canyon on a station even though it was 25C in the day it got down to near freezing that night. In a tent that's pretty cold!!!

Nature's Window Kalbarri NP

This amazing rock formation is Nature's Window (For obvious reasons) and can be found in Kalnarri National Park Western Australia. Pretty amazing place....

Shipwreck - Fraser Island

Hi All,

I am back, sorry for the huge gap in posts.
Today I want to share the very cool shipwreck on Fraser Island in Queensland. Fraser is the largest sand island in the world and claimed this ship a very long time ago.

Kata Tjuta - The Olgas

This is the famous neighbour of Uluru in the Northern Territory. It is a significant Aboriginal sacred place. The drive from uluru to here is around 30 mins and definitely worth it.

Tunnel Creek - Gibb River Road

This is the view from the inside of Tunnel Creek in Western Australia looking out through a roof collapse in the tunnel. Quite an eerie place.

The Pinnacles, Nambung National Park near Cervantes

This amazing place near the coast of Western Australia is Nambung National Park or 'The Pinnacles'. It is a very strange place with these fomations jutting up out of the sand.

Waterfalls of Atherton

I know, I know... you are all missing me! Sorry.
To make it up to you I have decided to post 2 waterfalls from Atherton Tablelands. First up is Zillie Falls, then the enchanted Ellinjaa Falls
Both very beautiful after a long while of dry outback!

The Bunngle Bungles

This amazing plave was amazingly only discovered in the 1980's. Truly unbelievable. Now the Bungle Bungles or Purnululu National Park is a world renowned national park. The drive here is strictly only 4x4 and pretty rough. Well worth it though.

Shame we had a cloudy day.

Wangi Falls - Litchfield National Park

Once again to the fabulous Litchfield National Park, this is Wangi Falls.
Great place to cool off and play in the waterfall. For those of you who read our trip blog, this is the place Heidi rescued the guy who couldn't swim!

Mossman Gorge

Mossman is a beautiful lush rainforest in north Queensland. You can swim in the river in the gorge, was a bit cold for us in the middle of winter!

100th Post today!! Favourite Destination

Well this is my 100th Post and I thought I would dedicate it to our favourite destination and the new friends we made there.

Cape York was the Destination and Sandy and Elliott were our friends.

Uluru Climb

This interesting shot was taken after I made the momentus climb to the top of Uluru (Ayers Rock) The small things you can see on the ground are cars and campers! I felt like I was up as high as a plane. The climb is VERY steep and tiring - it should not be attempted by the nervous or unfit.

'Big Red' Sand Dune - Simpson Desert NP

Hi All - I am back on the web after my house move....

This is a photo from the top of 'Big Red'.
Big Red is the largest sand dune in the Simpson Desert and is also the most easterly dune. This means if you are travelling from Mt Dare in the west to Birdsville in the east(Across the 'Simmo' as it is affectionatley known), Big Red will be your final and toughest test.
Our car was not capable of crossing the Simpson unfortunately (can't carry enough fuel) but we were able to drive to the top of 'Big Red'. It was just a case of letting the tyres down a bit and giving it plenty of gas to keep going.

Moss Covered Rocks - Nelson Falls

This shot was taken in central Tasmania and I love the green of the rocks. The atmosphere was so wet here, the rainforest was thriving.

Dust Storm, Flinders Ranges

This was the amazing view of an early morning dust storm as we drove from our 3 nights in the Flinders to Maree at the bottom of the Birdsville Track.
